Authorize an increase in the contract between the City and George Brothers Kincaid & Horton, L.L.P., for the provision of legal services, advice and counsel to the City of Mesquite in connection with several bond validation matters in Collin and Travis Counties in the amount not to exceed $25,000.00, for a total contract amount of $75,000.00.

The City entered into an agreement dated March 15, 2017, with George Brothers Kincaid & Horton, L.L.P. (“Attorneys”), for legal services in connection with Cause No. D-1-GN-17-000861 (Petition for Expedited Declaratory Judgment) filed by the North Texas Municipal Water District (“NTMWD”) in Travis County, Texas. Subsequently, several bond validation matters have been filed by NTMWD in the 429th Judicial District Court of Collin County, Texas (Cause Nos. 429-02972-2017 and 429-02251-2018). Attorneys have provided legal services in connection with both of these matters as well as the original case in Travis County.
