In 2015, the City of Mesquite purchased 26.8 acres located at 4311 Scyene Road for a total cost of $432,736.00. By following the process set forth by the Texas Department of Transportation’s Aviation Division for the acquisition of land, this land is now eligible for a reimbursement up to 90 percent of the acquisition cost ($389,463.00). This land was purchased to secure the Runway Protection Zone for Runway 18.
Financial Implications
This acquisition was purchased using 4B funds. The reimbursement amount of $389,463.00 will be returned to the Mesquite Quality of Life Corporation.
