An ordinance amending Chapter 9 of the City Code by reducing the school zone speed limit from 30 MPH to 20 MPH on East Cartwright Road between Waterloo Lane and Boardwalk Drive.
Body
The speed limit on East Cartwright Road was reduced from 45 MPH to 40 MPH by City Council action on June 17, 2019. The school zone speed limit for John Horn High School was posted at 30 MPH, due to the old speed limit of 45 MPH set on this section of East Cartwright Road. The school zone speed limit is being reduced to 20 MPH, based on the new posted speed limit of 40 MPH in this section of East Cartwright Road.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the Ordinance.
