Authorize the City Manager to execute the Second Renewal Option (“Contract Amendment”) to the Interlocal Agreement with the Texas Department of Public Safety for hangar rental space at the Mesquite Metro Airport.
Body
The Texas Department of Public Safety has leased a City-owned hangar at Mesquite Metro Airport since 1990. The current interlocal agreement extends through August 31, 2019, with four two-year renewal options. The agreement provides for a two percent increase in lease rates at the beginning of each two-year renewal period. The current payment for services of $2,835.60 per month will increase to $2,892.31.
The City Attorney’s Office has approved the Contract Amendment as to content and form.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends that the City Council authorize the City Manager to execute the Contract Amendment.
