An ordinance amending Chapter 9 of the City Code to reference the most current edition of the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and the City of Mesquite Engineering Design Manual.
Body
The ordinance revision requires traffic control devices to comply with the most current edition of the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices as amended by the City of Mesquite Engineering Design Manual. The existing ordinance refers to the 2011 edition, anticipating an update by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), this revision will ensure that the City is requiring the most current State regulations and guidelines. The ordinance revision also removes reference to a previous manual that was produced by the City’s Traffic Engineering Division and replaces the reference with the State regulatory and guidance document, the Texas Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices.
