Title
An ordinance amending Chapters 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 7.5, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15 and 16 of the Mesquite City Code, removing all fees from those chapters, and codifying all fees in a new Appendix D, “Comprehensive Fee Schedule.”
Body
In order to efficiently manage all fees throughout City operations, Staff is proposing to move all fees located in various sections of the Mesquite City Code to a new Appendix D within the Code. Each year during the budget process, all fees will be reviewed for potential changes. All proposed fee changes will then be easily presented to City Council in one ordinance for consideration and approval. This will eliminate the need for multiple fee ordinance changes. If fee changes are needed throughout the fiscal year, they will be submitted on an individual basis and the appropriate section of the new Appendix D will be updated at that time.
This proposed ordinance would remove all current fees from the chapters of the Mesquite City Code in order to relocate the fees to the new Appendix D of the Mesquite City Code called “Comprehensive Fee Schedule” that will be created by a separate ordinance.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.
