Title
An ordinance creating Appendix D to the Mesquite City Code entitled “Comprehensive Fee Schedule,” thereby establishing a place where all fees for municipal services are located.
Body
In order to efficiently manage all fees throughout City operations, Staff is proposing to move all fees located in various sections of the Mesquite City Code to a new Appendix D within the Code. Each year during the budget process, all fees will be reviewed for potential changes. All proposed fee changes will then be easily presented to City Council in one ordinance for consideration and approval. This will eliminate the need for multiple fee ordinance changes. If fee changes are needed throughout the fiscal year, they will be submitted on an individual basis and the appropriate section of the new Appendix D will be updated at that time.
This ordinance will establish a new Appendix D of the Mesquite City Code entitled, “Comprehensive Fee Schedule.” The Comprehensive Fee Schedule will include all fees currently authorized by the City and will allow most future fee adjustments to be made by adopting just one ordinance.

Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.
