Body worn and in-car video cameras create very high-resolution videos and generate large amounts of data that must be retained for long periods of time. The Police Department must increase its data storage to accommodate these large videos to comply with legal and criminal investigation standards. The Isilon storage will provide the Police Department with long term video retention capabilities to meet those standards.

The remaining $15,570.80 of the budgeted amount will be used for network infrastructure improvements to allow the high-speed data throughput between the main data center and the disaster recovery site where this storage will reside.

Financial Implications

Funding will be provided through the Police Seizure Amendment approved by City Council at the August 19, 2019, City Council meeting.

Recommended/Desired Action
