An ordinance amending Chapter 1 of the City Code thereby adopting a hardship assistance policy regarding ambulance fees and charges.
Body
The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) mandate that Texas Ambulance Services Supplemental Payment Program (TASPP) reimbursement is for charity care patients only, as of October 1, 2019. Therefore, the City Council must adopt a hardship assistance policy before said date for the Mesquite Fire Department to continue to participate in the program.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.
