Title

An ordinance providing funds for Fiscal Year 2019-20 by adopting and approving the budget for said period and appropriating and setting aside the necessary funds out of the general and other revenues of the City for said fiscal year for the maintenance and operation of various departments and activities of the City, for capital and other improvements of the City and for all other expenditures included in said budget.

 

Body

The attached financial schedules represent the City of Mesquite’s proposed plan of operations for Fiscal Year 2019-20 commencing October 1, 2019, and ending September 30, 2020. This plan of operations is the result of numerous City Council/Staff strategy presentations, discussion and opportunities for citizen input on the proposed budget. A written summary of Fiscal Year 2019-20 budget highlights is provided in the attached memorandum.

 

After closing the public hearing on September 3, 2019, the City Council voted to postpone the adoption of the Fiscal Year 2019-20 until the September 16, 2019, Council meeting.

 

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends that the City Council approve the attached ordinance adopting the proposed Fiscal Year 2019-20 budget.
