Title

An ordinance amending Section 2 of Ordinance No. 4361 increasing the assignment pay for members of the Mesquite Fire Department who satisfy certain conditions and criteria and who are assigned to perform the specialized function of a paramedic actually assigned to designated front-line ambulances during working hours (“front-line/ride-out ambulance services”).

 

Body

This new ordinance will allow additional pay to paramedics under Section 0.42 of the City of Mesquite Fire and Police Civil Service Rules and Regulations to provide an incentive in the amount of $40 per shift ($1.67 per hour) when members of the Fire Department are actually assigned to designated front-line ambulance duties during working hours.

Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.
