Title

An ordinance providing for the abandonment of right-of-way at the intersection of Columbia Parkway, formerly known as Audubon Parkway, and Republic Parkway.

Body

A representative of Urban Logistics Realty requested the partial abandonment of right-of-way (ROW) of Columbia Parkway, formerly known as Audubon Parkway.

Research of the Dallas County land records indicates that the subject ROW was dedicated by plat in 1988. However, the street segment of Columbia Parkway, north of Republic Parkway, was never constructed. In addition, there are no City-owned utilities or pavement within the ROW requested for abandonment.

Halff Associates, Inc., has obtained confirmation letters from the four public utility companies: ONCOR Electric Delivery, Atmos Energy, AT&T and Spectrum, indicating they have no facilities in the subject ROW and no objection to the abandonment. Halff Associates, Inc., has also prepared the necessary survey and legal description for the ROW to be abandoned.

The City Attorney’s office has reviewed state law and City procedures and confirms that this abandonment is in conformance with law and procedures.

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends approval of the ordinance.
