Title: A. Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute an amendment with the North Central Texas Trauma Regional Advisory Council (NCTTRAC) to the Regional Programs Participation Agreement allowing the Mesquite Fire Department to share information with NCTTRAC that can assist in the identification of regional Emergency Medical Services (EMS) best practices as well as to participate in a NCTTRAC-purchased database to be used for patient tracking and family reunification following a disaster or mass casualty incident. Title

B.                     Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute an amendment with the NCTTRAC to the Business Associate Agreement adding additional services that allows the Mesquite Fire Department to share information with NCTTRAC that can assist in the identification of regional EMS best practices as well as to participate in a NCTTRAC-purchased database to be used for patient tracking and family reunification following a disaster or mass casualty incident.

 

Body

These amendments to both the NCTTRAC Regional Programs Participation Agreement (RPPA) and Business Associate Agreement (BAA) will allow the Mesquite Fire Department to participate in several future programs that will be available to NCTTRAC member agencies. These programs include third party regional patient registries that allow member agencies to identify and share best practices and the NCTTRAC-purchased patient tracking and family reunification tools that can be used following a disaster or mass casualty incident.

 

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends that the City Manager be authorized to finalize and execute the two amendments to the agreements with NCTTRAC.
