A resolution selecting a cybersecurity training program and requiring related verification, reporting and auditing.
Body
This year the 86th Legislature of the State of Texas enacted House Bill 3834 which requires annual cybersecurity training for local government employees and elected officials. The bill requires the training program to be certified by the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR). The bill also requires the city to verify, report and audit the completion of the training. KnowBe4 is the City’s current security training vendor and has been certified as an authorized training vendor by the Texas DIR.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the resolution.
