Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute an Interlocal Agreement with the Town of Sunnyvale for Funding Participation in the Public Safety Dispatch Services Study.
Body
The Town of Sunnyvale and the City of Mesquite are interested in evaluating whether the Town of Sunnyvale’s public safety dispatch services can be incorporated into the City of Mesquite’s public safety communications center. This agreement will allow the Town of Sunnyvale to pay the entire cost of hiring a consultant to evaluate the feasibility of this integration and develop a comprehensive plan for implementation, if it is possible.
Financial Implications
The Town of Sunnyvale has agreed to reimburse the City of Mesquite the entire cost of the feasibility study, which is not to exceed $59,085.00.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends Council authorize the City Manager to execute the interlocal agreement. It should be noted that the professional services agreement is a separate agenda item but the two items should be considered jointly.
