Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute a Professional Services Contract with Black & Veatch Corporation to analyze integration of the Town of Sunnyvale Public Safety Dispatching Services into the City of Mesquite Public Safety Communications Center.

The City of Mesquite seeks the consulting services of Black & Veatch Corporation to analyze the feasibility of integrating the Town of Sunnyvale’s public safety dispatching services into the City of Mesquite public safety communications center. Black & Veatch will provide a comprehensive project plan and schedule for this integration, if it is to occur.
Financial Implications
The Town of Sunnyvale will reimburse the City of Mesquite for the entire cost of this service (which is not to exceed $59,085.00). This Interlocal Agreement was approved by the Sunnyvale Town Council on October 28, 2019, by Resolution 19-40.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends the Council authorized the City Manager to execute the agreement with Black & Veatch. It should be noted that the agreement with Black & Veatch should only be authorized if the Interlocal Agreement with the Town of Sunnyvale is also approved.
