Consider appointment of a principal member to the STAR Transit Board of Directors for a term to expire August 31, 2022.
Body
The City executed a supplemental agreement with STAR Transit on September 16, 2019, for STAR Transit to operate three modes of transit services in Mesquite: COMPASS 201, Demand Response and Mobility on Demand (STAR Now). The STAR Board bylaws provide for the City to have a principal and an alternate member on the STAR Board of Directors, which is comprised of seven Primary Board Members who serve at-large. The current vacancy is for Place 6. STAR Board members meet on the third Tuesday of each month. Board members serve a four-year term and may be reappointed at the conclusion of the original term.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends Council appoint a principal member to the STAR Transit Board of Directors for a term to expire on August 31, 2022.
