A resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with the State of Texas through the Texas Department of Transportation for traffic signals (state contracted with a municipality providing materials and/or labor and/or equipment) and reimbursement for the operation and maintenance within a municipality for the IH 635/LBJ East Project.
Body
As part of the IH 635/LBJ East project, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) contractor will design and construct new traffic signals required for LBJ East Design Build Project (IH 635) at the following locations:
1. IH 635 Service Roads at Oates Drive (replace with new signals).
2. IH 635 Service Roads at North Galloway Avenue (replace with new signals)
3. IH 30 Service Roads at North Galloway Avenue (replace with new signals)
4. IH 30 Service Roads at Gus Thomasson Road (construct new signal)
5. North Galloway Avenue at Wooded Lake Drive (modify existing signal)
Some of the equipment to be used for the traffic signal construction (traffic signal controllers and cabinets) are specific to the City of Mesquite. Therefore, TxDOT is requesting the City provide such materials according to the State contract. The City will be reimbursed at 100 percent of the cost of this equipment as detailed in the attached Agreement with TxDOT.
