Receive briefing from representatives of Emergency Services Consulting International regarding the results of the 2020 City of Mesquite Fire Department Agency Evaluation & Fire Station Location Study.

 

Body

Emergency Services Consulting International (ESCI) is an international firm that has provided specialized public safety consulting services to organizations throughout the United States and Canada since 1976. The Mesquite Fire Department contracted with ESCI in 2019 to complete an agency evaluation and fire station location study.

 

The Mesquite Fire Department study was completed during the third and fourth quarter of 2019, with the final report released in June of this year. The scope of the report covers:

 

                     Evaluation of Current Conditions

                     Review of Historical System Performance

                     Response Standards and Targets

                     Community Risk Analysis

                     Population and Service Demand Projections (including needed fire station locations)

                     Staffing and Personnel Management

                     Opportunities for Improvement

 

During the Pre-meeting, representatives from ESCI will brief the City Council on the major points of the study and will be available for questions.

 

Recommended/Desired Action

Receive direction from the City Council.
