Conduct a public hearing and consider an ordinance adopting revisions to the City of Mesquite Engineering Design Manual.
Body
On May 20, 2019, the City Council adopted the Engineering Design Manual to serve as a comprehensive manual for infrastructure design and construction. The Design Manual was last revised on April 13, 2020.
This ordinance will revise the following items within the Manual:
1. Revise elevation for manholes located in floodplain
2. Revise Sight Visibility table to add parameters for additional design speed
3. Revise minimum slopes for drainage pipes
4. Revise requirement for when water service must be replaced
5. Revise mow strip requirement along screening wall
6. Revise definition of Owner
7. Add Drainage Maintenance Agreement Language
8. Revise Standard Details W-1, W-7-9, and W-9, P-16-10
9. Revise Approved Water and Wastewater Approved Materials List
10. Add Standard Specification for Lime Stabilization
A public hearing will be held to allow public input regarding the proposed revisions to the Engineering Design Manual. After the public hearing, the City Council may consider approving the ordinance adopting revisions to the City of Mesquite Engineering Design Manual.
Recommended/Desired Action
Following the public hearing, staff recommends approval of the proposed ordinance.
