As part of the Fiscal Year 2019-20 capital outlay budget, 51 light duty vehicles (trucks and sedans) were approved for replacement and an additional four new vehicles to be added to the fleet. In response to an expressed desire by City Council to extend the service life of the existing vehicles, staff (Equipment Services Division and the end user department) conducted a thorough evaluation of the existing vehicles proposed for replacement. This consisted of visual inspections of all vehicles scheduled for replacement, a review of service history and repair costs and discussions with the affected departments/divisions to related to condition, reliability, importance of availability and general need for replacement. As a result of these evaluations, staff is submitting four pickups, one van, and three sedans to replace eight vehicles, due to age, condition, and increased maintenance costs. Also, proposed for purchase are one sedan and two pickups as new additions.

Financial Implications
