On June 1, 2020, the City Council approved the Dallas County CARES Act Funding Interlocal Agreement (ILA) for distribution of Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) funding in accordance with guidance from the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
The City’s CARES funding budget includes $148,000.00 for modifications of four public restrooms at the Municipal Center (1515 North Galloway Ave.) to enhance the safety of both employees and the general public and mitigate the transmission of COVID-19.
This turnkey remodeling project will include touchless fixtures, anti-microbial counters and partitions within two upstairs men and women restrooms and two downstairs men and women restrooms. If these renovations are approved, the City’s Facility Maintenance budget will also allow new floor coating, ceiling tiles and lighting upgrade to LED fixtures.
Financial Implications
Funding will come from Dallas County CARES Act funds in the amount of $148,000.00, and $33,000.00 will come from the FY-21 Facilities Maintenance capital budget.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends award to Concord Construction Services.
