The current fleet of 150 rugged computers and In-Car video systems will be out of warranty this year and new equipment for all Pubic Safety Vehicles has been purchased to keep them under warranty and remove end-of-life hardware and software. Installation of all new technologies into all public safety vehicles such as Mobile Data Computers (MDCs), In-Car Video Systems, Antennas and all necessary wiring will be included in these services.
Financial Implications
Funding for this purchase is part of the Fiscal Year 2020-21 bond sale. The remaining $1,169,554.33 will be used to purchase additional required services and equipment for this project such as MDCs, Docks, and other necessary equipment and services. Staff continues to evaluate the Patient Care Reporting rugged tablets that will be used by the Fire Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Division and will purchase those at a later date.
