Title

Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute Change Order No. 1 to Bid No. 2020-088, Lake Park Addition Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project, with ANA Site Construction, LLC, for additional services in the amount of $171,584.20.

Body

The City Council approved Bid No. 2020-088, Lake Park Addition Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project, with ANA Site Construction, LLC, on July 20, 2020, in the amount of $1,938,917.00. This is the first Change Order for the project and is a collection of items that have arisen since the start of construction.

Activities covered by Change Order No. 1 include:

Upsizing of a portion of the sewer main from 18” to 21” to add additional future capacity, to conform with the Wastewater Master Plan.

Minimize disturbance by boring under existing improvements rather than open cut trenching.

Bore new sewer lateral rather than open cut to protect mature tree.

Moon Drive Sanitary Sewer replacement. An additional sanitary sewer in Moon Drive needs replaced and falls within the scope of the overall Sewer Replacement Plan.

Add sewer tap in lieu of compensation for temporary construction easement.

Existing sidewalk removed in a portion of the project had decorative exposed aggregate. Replace to match existing rather than with standard concrete.

Revisions to accommodate a service lateral with unexpected field conditions.

Financial Implications

There are sufficient water/sewer funds available in the project budget to accommodate this change order.

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends approval of the change order.
