On February 13, 2021, City staff briefed the City Council on a proposed development agreement with Dalfen Industrial for the construction of two industrial buildings on Scyene Road, just west of the Mesquite Municipal Airport. Dalfen Industrial has a significant track record of industrial development in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and throughout the country and recently completed the two distribution facilities on Kearney, just west of Collins Road/SH 352 called the East Dallas Logistics Center.

Dalfen's proposed development includes two buildings, 395,000 square feet and 475,000 square feet. As part of this development, Dalfen is proposing improvements to Airport Boulevard to allow access to each of the two buildings. Due to a high transmission gas line that bisects the property, Dalfen is seeking to purchase a 15-acre portion of City owned property directly to the south of their property to maximize the development of their project. This property was purchased by the City several years ago for the purpose of attracting development adjacent to the airport.
