A resolution authorizing the City Manager or his designee to finalize and execute a grant agreement with the Texas Department of Transportation, Aviation Division, for the reimbursement of $103,500.00 from the acquisition of 2.9 acres of land located at 4180 Scyene Road in Mesquite, Dallas County, Texas.

In 2015, the City of Mesquite purchased 2.9 acres located at 4180 Scyene Road for a total cost of $115,132.66, including closing costs. Following the process set forth by the Texas Department of Transportation’s Aviation Division for the acquisition of land, this land is now eligible for a reimbursement up to 90 percent of the cost of the land ($103,500.00). This land was purchased to secure the Runway Protection Zone for Runway 18.
Financial Implications
This acquisition was purchased using 4B funds. The TxDOT Aviation reimbursement in the amount of $103,500.00 will be deposited in the Mesquite Quality of Life Corporation 4B Fund.
