Title

A resolution authorizing the City Manager or his designee to accept a Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) grant from the Texas Department of Transportation, Aviation Division, in the maximum amount of $57,162.00 to prevent, prepare for and respond to the impacts of the COVID-19 public health emergency on airports and the air traffic control towers operation, and authorizing the City Manager or his designee to finalize and execute all necessary documents relative to the acceptance of such grant.

Body

The U.S. Department of Transportation has awarded nearly $2 billion to U.S. airports to help them respond to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Texas Department of Transportation, Aviation Division, will administer the grants for all general aviation airports in the State of Texas. A formula was used to determine the CRRSAA grant amount offered to each airport based on its Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) classification. Mesquite Metro Airport is eligible to receive up to $57,162.00 under this program. Funds may be used to cover general operating expenses, payroll, maintenance and other purposes for which airport revenues may be lawfully used.
