Call a public hearing for August 2, 2021, 7:00 p.m., at City Hall, Council Chamber, 757 North Galloway Avenue, Mesquite, Texas 75149, and order the required public notice for the public hearing be given of the date, time and location of the hearing for the proposed 2021-22 budget.

 

Body

Per the Texas Local Government Code 102.006, the governing body shall hold a public hearing on the proposed budget and set the hearing date occurring 15 days after the proposed budget is filed with the municipal clerk, but before the date the governing body makes its tax levy. In addition, the governing body shall provide public notice of the date, time and location of the hearing.

 

The proposed budget was filed with the municipal clerk on July 16, 2021, in order to comply with the Texas Local Government Code 102.005 and allow for a public hearing to be held on August 2, 2021.

 

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends the City Council call the public hearing for August 2, 2021, and order the public notice for the public hearing.
