Approve Amendment No. 1 to the Fiscal Year 2021-22 Police State Seizure Budget in accordance with Title 28, Section 524, of the United States Code and Chapter 59 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure in the amount of $276,000.00.

Pursuant to Title 28, Section 524 of the United States Code and Chapter 59 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, the City of Mesquite has adopted a budget to account for funds awarded as a result of court forfeitures and contraband, and expenditures from the proceeds may only be used for law enforcement purposes in accordance with federal and state regulations.
The Fiscal Year (FY) 2021-22 Confiscated Seizure Fund Budget is amended to include expenditures of the following items:
Department Branding Initiative $13,000
Tactical Team Helmets $37,000
Camera Trailers $59,000
Narcotics Wireless Headsets $2,000
Crime Scene Cameras $20,000
Global Positioning for Police Radios $55,000
Cameras for North Peachtree Area $30,000
Fixed License Plate Reader $60,000
$276,000.00
