Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute the Work Order for the P25 Public Safety Radio system maintenance and support with the City of Garland for the term of October 1, 2021, through September 30, 2022, in the amount of $122,787.00.

On June 15, 2015, the Mesquite City Council authorized the City Manager to execute an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Garland for the design, purchase and maintenance of a Project 25 (P25) Radio System that is compliant with the Association of Public Safety Communication Officials (APCO) P25 Interoperability Standards. On November 5, 2018, the City Council approved the Master Interlocal Radio System Service Agreement with the City of Garland, for technical support and maintenance for the Project 25 (P25) Digital Radio System and subscriber radios.
The proposed work order provides the day-to-day maintenance service and support for handheld, mobile, and fixed base radios that includes four remote transmitter sites, the microwave system, the Police and Fire Communications Center, the back-up Communications Center, the Public Works Communications Center and all fire stations and fire station alerting.
This work order meets the maintenance standards set forth in the Interlocal Agreement with the City of Garland.
Financial Implications
Funding for this agreement is budgeted through the Fiscal Year 2021-22 operating budget, using the cost allocation plan.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends approval of the Work Order.
