Consider reappointment of Gary Bingham, Harry Sewell, Linda Davidson and Steven Nabors to serve as voting directors for the Mesquite Medical Center Management District (the "District") to fill the term for Positions 1, 2, and 3 on the Board of Directors of the District for terms expiring on June 1, 2023, and to fill the term for Position 5 on the Board of Directors of the District for a term expiring on June 1, 2025.
Body
The State Legislature created the Mesquite Medical Center Management District in 2013 for the Peachtree Towne Center/Verde Center at Peachtree project, and the statute requires the District Board of Directors to make recommendations to the City Council for Board appointments, except for vacancies of unexpired terms.
There are currently five voting director positions with staggered four-year terms:
Position 1: Gary Bingham - term expires June 1, 2023
Position 2: Harry Sewell - term expires June 1, 2023
Position 3: Linda Davidson - term expires June 1, 2023
Position 4: Vacant - term expires June 1, 2025
Position 5: Steven Nabors - term expires June 1, 2025
To qualify as a director, a person must be at least 18 years old and be:
(1) A resident of the District;
(2) An owner of property in the District;
(3) An owner of stock, whether beneficial or otherwise, of a corporate owner of property
in the District;
(4) An owner of a beneficial interest in a trust that owns property in the District; or
(5) An agent, employee, or tenant of a person covered by item (2), (3), or (4) above.
At their December 6, 2021, board meeting, the District Board of Directors approved the recommendation to appoint Mr. Jerome Dittman for Position 4, and reappoint Mr. Steven Nabors for Position 5, for terms expiring on June 1, 2025. The Board also approved the reappointment of Mr. Gary Bingham for Position 1, Mr. Harry Sewell for Position 2 and Ms. Linda Davidson for Position 3 for terms expiring on June 1, 2023.
