The Latimore Park project will construct a new neighborhood park on an undeveloped site located at 1025 Bryan Avenue. The new park includes a playground, lighted basketball court, and open grassy area.
Bid documents for construction of the park were broadcast through the Periscope electronic bidding system, posted on the City’s website, and advertised in the Daily Commercial Record newspaper.
Five responses were received and scored using the established Best Value evaluation criteria. Home Run Construction LLC received the highest score. The contractor originally proposed a cost of $350,880.00. After reviewing the scope of work with staff, the contractor agreed to reduce the price to $316,780.00 with a construction duration of 136 calendar days. This price exceeds the amount budgeted for construction and the difference will be funded by savings from other Balch Springs land sale projects.
The contractor is aware this is a priority project and has agreed to maximize every opportunity to shorten the construction duration as much as possible. Completion is estimated for September 2022.

Funding for this project is available through the Balch Springs land sale.
