Authorize the City Manager to finalize and execute a Professional Services Agreement with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc. for engineering and design of the La Prada Drive Reconstruction from Motley Drive to Pinehurst Lane Project, in an amount not to exceed $2,498,000.00.
Body
This contract will provide for engineering and design services for the reconstruction of approximately 8,700 linear feet of La Prada Drive from Motley Drive to Pinehurst Lane. While the design will be completed for the entire project area under this contract, it is anticipated that the construction will be completed in two phases, as follows:
• La Prada Drive - Phase 1: From Motley Drive to and including Barnes Bridge Road intersection, approximately 4,900 linear feet, planned to be a 3-lane undivided section.
• La Prada Drive - Phase 2: From Barnes Bridge Road to and including Pinehurst Lane, approximately 3,800 linear feet, planned to be a 4-lane divided section.
Storm drain, water line, sanitary sewer, traffic signal, pavement marking, signing, landscaping and irrigation improvements will also be included in the design and construction.
Staff will hold a Public Meeting to solicit feedback on design elements prior to final design.
Financial Implications
This project is funded through Certificate of Obligation bond funds.
Recommended/Desired Action
Staff recommends that the City Manager be authorized to execute a contract with Kimley-Horn and Associates, Inc.
