This item authorizes the ratification of the purchase of 1,520 45-Gallon Edge Trash Carts utilizing BuyBoard Contract No. 605-20 in the amount of $69,920.00.  It was discovered upon payment processing that the purchase exceeded the $50,000.00 limit with two separate purchases of $34,960.00 each, totaling $69,920.00, thus requiring ratification by Council for these purchases. Additionally, staff proposes utilizing Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) Contract No. RC01-21 for the annual purchase of 45-gallon trash carts for residents in an amount not to exceed $426,542.40.

 

Financial Implications

This proposal would allow the Solid Waste Division to purchase 45-gallon trash carts for residents and will be funded through revenue generated by the City’s cart program.

 

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to finalize and execute a contract with Otto Environmental Systems North America, Inc.
