Title
A resolution authorizing acceptance of the Fiscal Year 2022 Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Grant and execution of the Sub-Recipient Agreements with the Office of the Governor, Texas Homeland Security State Administrative Agency, in the amount of $154,681.53 and authorizing the Emergency Management Coordinator as the authorized official to apply for, accept, reject, alter or terminate the Grant on behalf of the City.

Body
The City has been awarded funding as part of the FY2022 Urban Area Security Initiative in the amount of $154,681.53.

The City agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the Office of the Governor funds, the City will return the funds to the Office of the Governor in full and the grant is divided into the following projects:

(1) Fireground Incident Command Training (Grant #4572201) - To provide training for chief and company officers on how to make sound, informed tactical decisions amid the chaos of the modern fireground particularly at type 4 and type 5 incidents. This project is funded at $52,000.00; and

(2) SCADA Hardware Upgrade (Grant #4572401) - To upgrade the City of Mesquite's Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) hardware to improve the cybersecurity of the system and isolate the network from unauthorized access from internal or external vulnerabilities. This project is funded at $82,500.00; and

(3) Tactical Drone (Grant #4572501) - To enhance the Mesquite Police Department's Tactical Team by increasing its capabilities in interdiction and disruption; screening, searching, and detection, and intelligence and information sharing in direct response to a high-risk situation. This project is funded at $17,381.53; and
