This contract will provide for the installation of a 1,000-kilowatt diesel generator, a manual transfer switch, a soundproof enclosure and other associated site improvements for the Southeast Pump Station. This size of generator has a long lead time for delivery. It is anticipated that the materials will be ordered upon execution of the contract and the work is expected to be done in the Fall or Winter of 2023.

 

Bid notices were broadcast through the Periscope Holdings electronic bidding system, posted on the City’s website, and published in the Daily Commercial Record newspaper. A total of two responsive bids were received. The low bidder stated bid exceptions that did not conform with the bid requirements and therefore, was deemed non-responsive. Staff reviewed references and other qualification information submitted for the responsive low bidder and recommends award of the contract to The Gencon Group, Inc. dba Dake Construction.

 

Financial Implications

Funding has been allocated for this project from Water and Sewer revenue bonds.
