Body
On May 20, 2019, City Council approved the Downtown Mesquite Fa?ade Improvement Program in order to encourage the improvement of properties within the downtown area. The Program provides for 50 percent reimbursement grants for approved exterior improvements.

Applicant property is:
200 West Davis Street / Owned by Watts Family Trust / Occupied by Lindstrom Law Firm

Proposed Improvements:
Cleaning and repair of stucco, painting of stucco, metal awning, exterior doors per design and recommendation of Texas Main Street lead architect.

Total estimate: $5,883.25
Total grant request: $2,941.62

The application has been reviewed by the Mesquite Downtown Development Advisory Board; the board voted unanimously to recommend the application for approval by Council.

Upon approval, the property owner may commence with the improvements. Upon completion of the improvements, the project will be inspected. If the project is deemed as in keeping with what was proposed in the application, the property owner will be reimbursed 50 percent of the cost of eligible improvements (as detailed in the Downtown Mesquite Fa?ade Improvement Ordinance).

The Mesquite Downtown Development Advisory Board recommends approval of the grant application.

Recommended/Desired Action
Following the public hearing, staff recommends approval of the resolution.
