Five pick-up trucks were approved in the Fiscal Year 2022-23 Capital Outlay Budget for Environmental Code (2), Engineering (1) and Commercial Solid Waste (2).  Staff has located two Ford F-150 single-cab pick-up trucks and three Ford Ranger extended-cab pick-up trucks.  The extended-cab Ford Rangers were selected due to their comparable cost, availability, and long lead times of the single-cab Ford F-150’s.

Two of the trucks are replacements (Environmental Code) and three are new additions (Engineering/ Commercial Solid Waste).  The vehicles scheduled for replacement have been reviewed by the Department Director and Manager of Equipment Services to verify condition and the need for replacement.

The estimated time of delivery is September 2023.

Financial Implications

The remaining funds will be used to purchase residual approved equipment/vehicles and to outfit units with required equipment.

Recommended/Desired Action

Staff recommends purchase from Sam Pack’s Five Star Ford. Ltd.
