B. Consider approval of the proposed CDBG-CV Budget for the 2021 Fiscal Year.

A. On March 27, 2020, the United States Congress passed HR 78, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Stimulus Act, (CARES Act). The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has notified the City of Mesquite that Mesquite received an additional allocation of $910,854.00 in Community Development Block Grant - COVID-19 (CDBG-CV) funds from the CARES Act for emergency assistance to individuals, families, public service agencies and small businesses directly impacted by COVID-19. The amendment proposed is a HUD requirement to submit for disbursement of the $910,854.00 CARES Act allocation.
B. The City of Mesquite has received a total of $1,583,307.00 in Community Development Block Grant - COVID-19 (CDBG-CV) funds from the CARES Act for emergency assistance to individuals, families, public service agencies and small businesses directly impacted by COVID-19. In Fiscal Year 2020, a total of $412,500.00 was allocated to programs that address housing, food security, domestic violence, youth and mental health needs. The following budget allocations are recommended for Fiscal Year 2021:
